It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman

Best Actor Award Winner - 2017 Inland Theatre League Award

Written in 1966, It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman, is a campy musical-comedy set in the classic comic book world of Metropolis. It follows Superman's adventure to stop the evil Dr. Sedgwick in his attempt to reveal Clark Kent's true identity. The music is by Charles Strouse & Lee Adams (writers of Bye Bye Birdie) and book by David Newman & Robert Benton.

Lago recently won The Best Actor Award at the 2017 Inland Theatre League Award Ceremony for his portrayal of Clark Kent and Superman in the rare musical-comedy, It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman!

“Lago is sheer fun as Clark Kent. It isn't easy to pull off his awkwardness in a natural way, but he achieves it in spades. He nicely low keys his Superman appearances, with the sad scene with Lois a real standout, where he cannot confide that he loves her.”
